Churches have always served as important community spaces, supporting the diversity of needs of those it serves. The Albright Church Building, located at the corner of Center and South Graham in the East End is a wonderful example of this and we want to get the word out about the historic space this building has held for so many years.
The church was built in the late 1906 and over the years has served as a spiritual space, has been a home for non-profits and “start-up” companies, has fed thousands, educated the youngest of us and its walls have held some of the most important ceremonies in life.
Friends of Albright is a coalition of community members who have been working with the Albright United Methodist Church congregation on historic preservation of the church building and developing a comprehensive plan for how the building can continue to serve the Pittsburgh community.
